About the artwork
"Panorama of half a pineapple (from the top)" is a photograph of a pineapple on a pineapple plant. For this work, I photographed the pineapple from the top, because you can see a nice pattern from this point. The leaves run like a star with the tips pointing outwards, and the pineapple itself forms a nice circle in the work.
The focus of the photo is on some of the top leaves of the pineapple, and from there everything else behind them becomes blurred. This creates depth in the work and makes it quieter. (If you zoom in on the work, you can clearly see where the sharpness is)
Associations: This work reminds me of Hawaii, tropics, tropical fruit, sun, heat, summer but also cooking, food and sweet.
This work could hang beautifully as wall decoration in, for example, the waiting room, dining room, kitchen, restaurant or of course just above the sofa!
