It has a length of 776 km and a catchment area of 79,000 km², and lies entirely within French territory. The banks of the Seine in Paris have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991. The inscription covers a large area (365 ha) on both banks in the city centre, with many monumental buildings and parks.
