Annet Raben (Groningen 1960) creates large, colourful canvases in a dashing, abstract figurative style. Her canvases are true eye-catchers, striking and cheerful in any room, living room, waiting room or company canteen.
Za draws inspiration from Kandinsky, Picasso, Hundertwasser, Jorn, Briels, Milhazes and many other colourful artists.
Her own formal language is applied by placing solid lines, dots and dots and using opaque and transparent colours.
Although the canvases look abstract, if you look more closely, you can see all kinds of figures emerging. Strange birds, fish heads, eyes, weird critters, flowers, buildings, railway lines and confetti. An imaginative whole, a stimulation of the senses.
