This is a green route connecting the two historic towns of Hekendorp and Oudewater. Uphill you walk along the old Tiendweg. Put on good walking shoes, as you will pass through tall grass, over bridges and sometimes have to slip past a fence. All crowds, motorised traffic and even cyclists are far away. Once in Oudewater, you are in the province of Utrecht. The way back takes you along a towpath along the Hollandse IJssel. If you walk here in autumn, you will see the trees full of apples and pears.
