The torrential storms and tempestuous snow showers have passed, and the lake now lies blackened like a mirror in the lee of the forest. after the chilly morning mist and the grey fog, the sun, still pale at first but then gaining strength, emerges. The soft pastel shades of a moment ago are now rapidly changing to bright colours and high contrasts. but the stillness has remained, so nothing moves. Time seems frozen, as if the world is holding its breath. It is leafy stillness, like a photograph, but I still had to take it, in reality, first.
