The Posbank is in popular speech also the name for the hilly heathland in which it lies, but this area is actually called the Herikhuizerveld. The Herikhuizerveld is a hilly heathland that is part of the National Park Veluwezoom in the municipality of Rheden in the Dutch province of Gelderland.
The field is named after the nearby former farm Herikhuizen. The area is also called the Posbank, after the monument that stands on a hill on the northeast side of the Herikhuizerveld.
The Herikhuizerveld is grazed by Icelandic ponies. Boars and deer also occur in the area. On the adjoining Heuven estate is the sheepfold of the Rheden sheep flock. The Veluwe Heath Sheep from this flock prevent the Herikhuizer heath from overgrowing with their grazing.
