About ‘Praia do Mar de Fóra, Fisterra, Costa da Morte’ by Peter Haastrecht, van

Breathtaking views of the rugged rocky coast of Galicia in northern Spain. Praia do Mar de Fóra is located near the picturesque village of Fisterra on the famous Costa da Morte in Galicia, Spain. Surrounded by rugged cliffs, this secluded beach is characterised by the powerful Atlantic waves that constantly pound the shore. The village of Fisterra, known as the symbolic terminus of the Camino de Santiago, attracts pilgrims and travellers who want to experience the dramatic beauty of north-western Spain. From the beach and surrounding cliffs, the views of the Atlantic Ocean offer a spectacular panorama, especially during sunrise and sunset. The Costa da Morte, literally "Coast of Death", gets its name from the many shipwrecks created here by treacherous currents and rocks. Praia do Mar de Fóra and Fisterra together form a unique combination of nature, culture and mysticism, perfect for hikers, photographers and lovers of pristine Atlantic coastlines.
