About ‘Puffin on the Farne Islands’ by Paul van der Zwan
The puffin (Puffin) is a striking bird from the van Alken family. It is easily recognisable by its black and white plumage and large beak which is brightly coloured during the breeding season. Because of its appearance and way of locomotion it is sometimes called 'the clown of the seabirds', and more reverently 'the priest'.
