The Ulun Danu Bratan is a Balinese Pura, a Hindu temple in Bali. The Pura Ulun Danu Bratan is located in the northwest of the island near Lake Bratan.
The temple is dedicated to the goddess Dewi Danu, the goddess of water, lakes and rivers. This lake plays an important role in the irrigation of the area.
The complex was built in 1633. It is divided into several islets. The Meru, with eleven roofs is dedicated to Shiva and his consort Parvati. Buddha (as the reincarnation of Vishnoe) also has a place in the Hindu temple of the gods.
Lake Bratan is known as the "sacred mountain lake", its surroundings are very fertile. It is located at an altitude of 1200 meters and the climate is therefore cool.
