The periwinkle flower is a beloved easy-to-grow ground-cover flower here in the USA. The original origin of this beautiful small form of Vinca minor is a species of flowering plant in the dogbane family in Southern Europe and Northern Africa.

The view of this photograph is at a low ground-level angle. This gives the viewer the feeling that they are looking directly at this periwinkle flower at eye level.
The atmosphere of this floral is that of sitting or laying under a tree in the shade on a cool Spring morning. It has a sense of peace and quiet.

Macro photography allows me to get close and intimate with my subject matter. It shows the beauty easily overlooked due to our busy lifestyles. My artwork gives the viewer a sense of calm, peace, and relaxation. A reprieve from daily stresses.
