I took this picture at the Beekhuizerzand where there is also some heather. This sand drift is owned by the municipality of Harderwijk and is leased by the military as an exercise area. When I took this picture the heather was flowering beautiful purple, it was already evening when I took this picture. It was also almost a cloudless evening so I still had sunlight. To be able to take this picture I put it on a tripod and also used a polarizing filter. To get to this spot I took my bike because this piece of heathland is along a bicycle path. In principle, you can freely walk and cycle on the Beekhuizerzand on bicycle and hiking trails if you want. The Beekhuizerzand is the whole year though beautiful even though there is a helicopter flying low over. Occasionally there is a flock of sheep in the summer to graze the grass between the heather away.
