From the south side of the Oosterschelde, near Noord-Beveland, a beautiful spectacle unfolded: a full rainbow arced over the Zeeland Bridge, while dark clouds formed the backdrop. The bridge, partly illuminated by sunlight breaking through the cloud cover, led the eye to the horizon where nature and technology meet.
The sea was calm, with a greenish glow and gentle wave action that gave it a serene atmosphere. No rocks or basalt blocks-all attention goes to the sky, the light and the line of the bridge. This image captures a moment of stillness and wonder in which the contrast between threat and hope is palpable.
For me, this work is an ode to Zeeland: to its skies, its waters, and the moments when everything comes together in a visual harmony. It fits perfectly into an interior that wants to radiate calm, depth and connection with the landscape.
Sometime in 1980 Jan bought his first SLR camera and since that time a camera has always been at his fingertips.
