Brightly colored sections of several buildings that make up Dublin Castle form a composition immediately reminiscent of Piet Mondrian and De Stijl. The photograph shows a balance between areas of color punctuated by black and white windows and frames. On the left side, the photograph is enclosed by a white downspout. Each plane of color is framed horizontally by black lines. Century-old architecture becomes cheerful and makes the passerby happy, a feast for the eyes.
This photograph belongs to fun, to optimism. It is a work that demands a prominent place in a spacious interior.
It may require some daring to hang this work large on the wall, but the work will not get boring and will elicit a smile from the viewer again and again.
