Retro Line Drawing of a Cat – Colourful Cat in Geometric Shapes | Modern Cat Art by Hilde Remerie – Digital Art, Bauhaus & Photography

This retro line drawing of a cat is a playful and modern tribute to the cat. The animal takes centre stage in a graphic composition in which a large yellow circle and a brown shape form the background. As a result, the cat almost seems to be floating in space, giving the image a surprisingly three-dimensional and playful effect.

The simple line drawing makes the cat instantly recognisable and full of character without the need for many details. It is precisely the combination of lines, shapes and circles that creates its distinctive look. The cat is beautifully centred and, thanks to the geometric background, takes on a modern, graphic design.

The colour palette gives the work a distinct retro feel. Orange, brown, terracotta and taupe combine to form a warm base, whilst pink and the yellow circular area provide cheerful accents. The earthy tones lend the artwork warmth, whilst the geometric shapes give it a contemporary feel.

The line drawing was created digitally using a graphics tablet and image-editing software. The result is a combination of illustration, digital art and retro design. The playful composition makes the piece suitable for a variety of spaces, from the living room and hall to a study or office.

This cat art complements a retro, mid-century modern, colourful or eclectic interior particularly well. Even in a modern interior, the warm colour combination can provide a cheerful graphic accent. For lovers of cats and minimalist illustrations, this artwork brings both worlds together.
