History of the castle:
From 1433 a castle was built here. It stands in a strategic location, on open polder and water. It's fought over regularly. It was plundered and set on fire during the Hoekse and Kabeljauw quarrels in 1489. Each time the castle is rebuilt and adapted to the times. In 1598 it was given its current form and is whitewashed; it is then called 'The White House'.
Currently it is used as a restaurant there are regular exhibitions and it is also a popular wedding venue.
Leo takes nature photos, wanders through his hometown Rotterdam and also likes to capture images by means of macro-photography. In addition, Leo is developing more and more into abstract and impressionistic images, e.g. by using longer shutter speeds in combination with motion blur.
