About ‘Rhythm of the Dimi’ by Ingrid Koedood Photography

I took this photograph during a Dimi ceremony of the Dassanech community in the Omo Valley, Ethiopia, in March 2025. Within this community, the Dimi ceremony marks the transition from girlhood to womanhood. During the ceremony, a strong sense of connection emerges. Movement, rhythm and presence merge into a moment that has been passed…
