If there is anything that is surrounded with romance and nostalgia it is old sailing ships. They regularly visit Dutch ports and large groups of visitors marvel at the masts, the rigging, the sails and the atmosphere of yesteryear. But these masts do not belong to just any classic two-master. these are the masts of Tres Hombres. A two-masted Barkentine. Meanwhile, more than a decade ago, three friends decided to put a sailing cargo ship into service. They found a suitable ship, restored it and since then the ship has been sailing the Atlantic Ocean without an engine with cargo and a changing crew. It couldn't get much more romantic. And that it is a ship that is used can also be seen by the sails and rigging. It is clear that it is being used, worn down and repaired. this gives it even more life.
The photo was taken in Den Helder where Tres Hombres was moored for a new voyage and everything was checked and repaired again.
