This colourful photo was taken from the Zalmhaven Tower, on the north bank of the river New Maas, looking south. We see an alternation of water and land, from front to back.
In the foreground we see the aforementioned Maas, behind it Wilhelmina Pier, including the cruise terminal, Las Palmas with roof structure and Montevideo. Behind it again is the Rijnhaven harbour with the illustrious Katendrecht district on the other side. And finally, behind that lies the Maashaven and the district of Charlois.
Whereas the time of photography, the blue hour, already creates a colourful image through the combination of artificial and daylight, in this photo this is further enhanced by the green cube on the Codrico grain silo and the blue light on the Maassilo.
Usually, by the way, white vans like the ones parked on Wilhelmina Pier annoy me. But in this photo, the vehicle is modest enough and is actually a nice little scale element....
