Rotterdam Water Taxi during the golden hour by Anthony Malefijt

Experience the unprecedented energy of Rotterdam from a unique perspective. In this spectacular photograph, taken from above, the iconic Rotterdam Water Taxi cuts through the rippling waters of the Meuse at high speed. It is a snapshot full of action and elegance, perfectly captured during the golden hour, when the sun transforms the river into a golden spectacle.

From this bird's-eye view, you can really see how the water taxi cuts through the water like an agile arrow. The powerful bow waves form a beautifully symmetrical trail behind the ship, which seems to become liquid gold in the low, warm raking light. The deep orange glow reflects on the water's surface and accentuates the iconic contours of the taxi, giving the image an almost cinematic quality.

This is Rotterdam at its best: raw, fast-paced and visually stunning. Whether you love maritime photography, admire the dynamism of the port city, or are looking for a powerful statement on your wall that never gets boring, this photo exudes the freedom of the Maas. It is a tribute to the innovative spirit of the city, where past and present meet on the water.

Bring the dynamism of the Meuse into your home. This work is best displayed on high-gloss acrylic glass or brushed aluminium, beautifully highlighting the golden reflections and speed of the water.
