Rouen in black and white by Jelmer Hogeling

Imagine a hushed moment in the beautiful city of Rouen, captured in black and white, where time seems to stand still and the soul of the city is revealed. In this enchanting street shot, Rouen's rich history and modern charm come together in a single image.

The photo shows Rouen's cobbled streets, laced with centuries-old cobblestones that whisper of times gone by. Rouen's majestic cathedral looms in the distance, its Gothic splendour seeming to touch the sky. The black-and-white contrast adds a timeless depth to the architecture, with shadows and play of light performing a dance that gives the city a soul.

People on the street are captured in their daily activities - a street musician sharing his tune, a couple walking hand-in-hand along historic facades, and an old shopkeeper displaying his wares. Each face carries stories of the past and present, intertwined with the city itself.

The picture exudes a quiet melancholy, an invitation to wander through the narrow alleys and along the Seine, where history speaks through the facades of half-timbered houses and the traces of famous visitors like Joan of Arc are palpable.

Hang this beautiful street photo in your home, office or studio, and bring Rouen's timeless charm to life in your own space. It is more than just a photograph; it is a poetic journey through the streets of this French city, captured in black and white, where history, culture and everyday life come together.
