Doi Inthanon National Park includes the mountain of the same name with a height of 2,599 metres above sea level, making it the highest in Thailand.
The mountain is part of the Himalayas, which runs between Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, and ends near northern Thailand. On the way to the summit, you will find these 2 Royal Pagodas named "Phra Mahathat Napha Methanidon" and "Phra Mahathat Naphaphon Phumisiri" and were built to commemorate the fifth cycle birthdays of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.
The pagodas enshrine Buddha?s ashes and Buddha images, and overlook the beautiful scenery of Doi Inthanon and are surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and ponds.
