Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.

About ‘Rubjerg Knude Fyr (North Jutland, Denmark)’ by Heidi Bol

Rubjerg Knude lighthouse is one of the most iconic spots in North Jutland (Denmark). Built in 1900 at over 60 metres high and over 200 metres off the coast. The lighthouse was used as a beacon for sea-going ships until 1968. It then became a museum. Due to increasing erosion, the museum was closed in 2002.

The lighthouse was expected to disappear into the sea by 2023 due to the moving dune sand and erosion of the dunes by the sea. In 2019, it was therefore decided to protect the lighthouse and move it 70 metres inland. At that time, the lighthouse was only 3.5 metres from the edge of the dune. The lighthouse is expected to stand safely until around 2060.
