"Rural: A small piece of nature on the wall" is a photo I took of a very small piece of a Tragopogon (in the Netherlands, this plant is also called the Morning Star). The plant is very similar to the common dandelion; when the flower has finished flowering, it turns into a fluffy bulb. Only the fluff ball of a Tragopogon is different from that of a dandelion. The fuzz is a kind of spider webs, from which beautifully small droplets stick to. You can see this clearly when you zoom in on the photo.
When taking this photo, I chose a small depth of field. The focus is on the centre fluff and everything in front and behind it gradually fades away. This creates a sense of depth in the piece and it also gives the image a calmer look.
You can hang this little piece of nature in your home on the wall in, for example, the kitchen, dining room, bedroom or just above the sofa in the living room! (Also great for decorating business walls, of course!) ©Marjolijn van den Berg
