Rustic walking path with bench under the shelter of a large tree on the grounds of Noorderbrood Revalidatie at the MCL complex (Medical Center Leeuwarden). The path offers patients, clients and nursing staff the opportunity to walk quietly and relax. The large, widely grown tree provides shelter and a feeling of security. I think this is a nice place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

As an enlarged work on the wall, the photo offers people, such as hospital patients, who cannot or have difficulty going outside, the opportunity to bring nature and greenery indoors.
Green is not only soothing, but also recovery-promoting. Views of greenery can also reduce the need for medication.
With my photos in this folder I emphasize the great importance of greenery in and around healthcare institutions. For me, as a (recovered) acute leukemia patient, the view from my nursing room of a beautiful mature courtyard in the MCL was extremely valuable.
