Sacred Valley, Peru.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas or Sacred Valley is a valley in the Peruvian Andes near the Inca capital of Cuzco. Roughly speaking, the entire area between the village of Písac and the ruined city of Ollantaytambo parallel to the Urubamba River ("sacred river") is included.
The valley is green because many rivers that descend through adjacent valleys and gorges bring water and it contains many archaeological remains and villages. The valley was of great importance to the Incas because of its specific geographical and climatic advantages. It was one of the most important centres for agriculture and is still the best place for growing maize in Peru.
