These sculptures adorn the walls of the Prasat Preah Khan temple, one of the jewels of the Angkor complex in Cambodia. Each figure, finely carved in stone, represents Buddhist divinities and symbolic elements typical of Khmer art. The details of the reliefs bear witness to the exceptional skill of the craftsmen of the time.
The wall, marked by the passage of time, is covered in moss and lichen, accentuating its mystical and timeless character. The seated figures, in meditative posture, evoke serenity and devotion, while the floral and geometric motifs that surround them highlight the cultural and spiritual wealth of the Khmer empire.
Located in the heart of the jungle, Prasat Preah Khan was a major religious and educational centre. These sculptures are a gateway to a distant past, where art and spirituality come together in perfect harmony. This place, steeped in history, continues to amaze visitors with its peaceful atmosphere and unique architecture.
