The Saharan Horned Viper is a venomous snake found in the Middle East and parts of Africa. The snake is nocturnal to avoid the daytime heat. When hunting prey, the snake lies in an ambush under the sand, bites a passing prey with an incredible speed and immediately releases it. The prey will soon die, the snake calmly awaits its death and then traces the corpse with its strong sense of smell. Its menu mainly includes rodents, birds and lizards.
