Giethoorn is located in the north of Overijssel and is a village which was created by its many excavations of peat. This created the many water channels. The houses are built on islands, which also explains why there are 176 bridges. Many water sports enthusiasts go there to sail boats, canoes and punters. What also makes this village special is that you can only go through it by boat, bicycle or on foot.
I myself have been there several times now and among other things took this picture from a boat. Later I made a watercolor painting of it.
The painting was photographed in such a way that the structure of the watercolor paper is still clearly visible. This has the advantage that it looks even more like a real painting, despite being a print.
