The Saker Falcon is a large and heavily built falcon which breeds from eastern Europe to southern Siberia and northern China. Its food consists of small mammals (mainly ground squirrels and mice) and small reptiles. The Saker Falcon has a large distribution area, however the loss of habitat, and the capture of falcons for falconry is a major threat to this species.
