About ‘Salt pans on Gozo’ by Judith van Wijk

The salt pans at Marsalforn on Gozo, Malta, are centuries old and still in use. The pools are carved into limestone along the coast. They fill with seawater, the sun evaporates the water and the salt remains. I took this picture at sunrise. The rising sun gave a beautiful glow on the water in the basins.
