An artistic, photo art, interpretation of a Samurai Helmet. The helmet is an antique, shown here on a satin cushion a part of an exhibition of Japanese culture. The Samurai were the officers/nobility of the warrior class of Japan from medieval times up until the end of the nineteenth century. Samurai culture was influenced by Buddhism (no needless killing), Zen (particularly the importance of meditation to calm the mind) but also Shinto and Confucianism. The Samurai were loyal to their clan and their lord.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
