Sand lines, also known as sand ridges or sand dunes, are an intriguing natural phenomenon created by the constant dance of the wind over vast expanses of sand. These jagged lines of sand are a work of art by Mother Nature and can stretch across kilometres of desert landscape.
The sand lines are formed when the wind lifts and drops grains of sand. The sand grains are moved in the direction of the prevailing wind, and this continuous process creates elongated lines that can sometimes be metres high. The shape and size of these sand lines vary depending on wind speed and the nature of the sand.
What makes these sand lines even more fascinating is the constant change they undergo. The wind keeps blowing, causing the sand dunes to constantly change shape. This creates picturesque patterns and contours that create a beautiful spectacle, both up close and from afar.
Sand dunes play an important role in the ecosystem of desert areas, as they often serve as shelter for plants and animals from the scorching heat and powerful winds. Moreover, they reflect the infinite beauty and dynamism of nature, in which change is a constant.
