There are always interesting shapes to be found on the beach of one of the Wadden Islands.
This photo was taken on Terschelling's North Sea beach. While walking along the coastline, I saw these beautifully formed sand artworks. The strong wind that sometimes blows across the beach causes small sand piles to form. The sun shows a nice contrasting shadow edge where the void in the sand has formed.
This image will please anyone who enjoys beach walks. The lack of colours also gives the picture something soothing.
