About ‘Santa Catalina Monastery in Arequipa, Peru’ by Jille Zuidema

The Santa Catalina convent was founded in 1580 and is still partly inhabited by nuns. The complex is about 2 hectares in size and has numerous colourful streets which are characteristic of the oldest districts in Arequipa.
