Crissay-sur-Manse is located south of Tours on the banks of the Manse in the Touraine region. The village has beautiful houses that are made of white natural stone. The castle has seen better days and is now completely dilapidated but it is certainly impressive and the current state also has its charm. The history of the village goes back to the tenth century, but most of the buildings are of much later, the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries on exact. The houses are therefore all in French renaissance style because that was completely in fashion at the time. For us that is not a punishment because they are very nicely decorated and give the village its character. What is special is that some houses are literally buried in the rocks and some of them are in the limestone.
