The Schiessentümpel is a small, picturesque waterfall in the Black Ernz. With its artful stone bridge and impressive rocks, dese place is one of the most preferred places for a trip in the Mullerthal Region - Luxembourg's Little Switzerland.
Nowadays, when we talk about the Schiessentümpel, we also talk about the bridge and the waterfall. The sandstone bridge was built in 1879 and although it has no practical function in terms of mobility like other large bridges, it has been the symbol of the Mullerthal Region - Luxembourg Little Switzerland since 1879.
Before 1879, the region was difficult to access, dangerous to humans, and was said to resemble a primeval forest and was called the 'land of wolves'.
