At the edge of the Schrammsteine, the Falkenstein rises as a solitary rock far above the treetops of the surrounding forest. Thus, the rock creates the best conditions for seeing and being seen: On the one hand, the numerous climbers, who reach the summit, have a fabulous panoramic view over the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. On the other hand, the Falkenstein is visible from afar from both the left and the right side of the Elbe river and is thus a characteristic landmark.
