About ‘Schipper Street, Amsterdam city centre’ by Willem Koenes

During a walk through Amsterdam, I took a photograph in Schipperstraat, near Prins Hendrikkade. The original image shows a recognisable and everyday street scene, like so many others in the historic city centre. This image forms the starting point for an artistic adaptation in which past and present come together.

Photography, art, kitsch, artistic gladly everyone has their own idea and taste about this. and that is how it should be otherwise we would live in a boring world. In which category my works belong is up to you. For me it's photo-art created by using digital editing and combining old masters with the present. For combining my work with old master I use open-access files from various museums all over the world.
