Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.

About ‘Scleractinia’ by Enak Cortebeeck

They can look like rocks, plants, or take on extraordinary architectural forms, as if they were built by some industrious creature.

But corals are none of those things. They are invertebrate animals, and are even related to jellyfish.

Not much more than a mouth, a stomach, and a ring of stinging tentacles, countless tiny coral animals — polyps — band together and use calcium from seawater to build hardened, rock-like skeletons, becoming what we know as hard corals.

In doing so, they form the foundations of coral reefs and provide shelter for the many juvenile marine species that grow up in these nurseries of the ocean.

Enak Cortebeeck

Antwerpen, Belgium

ENAK CORTEBEECK is an Antwerp-based art director and designer, working in film, television, children’s media, user experience and socio-cultural campaigns. He has worked for clients including the BBC, Warner Bros., the European Union and De Filistijnen.

As well as his work as a designer, Enak is an underwater photographer. In his images, he explores texture, colour and the silent geometry of coral ecosystems.
