Scottish Highlander 5.

This Highlander was photographed on a beautiful cold afternoon.
The contrast with the surroundings was nice and clear. The breath from its nose and heat leaving its body were very visible. Also the horn was exactly in a line with branch above it.
The warm glow of the sun is in stark contract with the cold surroundings and time of year
and thus makes the cold make the image feel warm.

The Scottish Highlander is the native cattle of the western highlands of Scotland and the Hebrides. No inbreeding with other cattle breeds occurred. The first herd book was established in 1885.

Until 1849, most Scottish Highlanders were black in colour. The story goes that in the 1840s Queen Victoria visited the Scottish Highlands and then expressed her preference for the red animals. She simply found them more beautiful.

An adult bull weighs 800 kilos and a cow 500 kilos. The shoulder height is 125 and 115 cm respectively. Scottish highlanders can live up to eighteen years. During that time, a cow can give birth to about 15 calves. The gestation period is about ten months. Cows have widespread, upward-pointing horns, while those of bulls are horizontal to the front.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
