Sensual Buttocks – In the Mosaic of Fossils

by AidasignArt

This extraordinary relief artwork showcases the female buttocks as the sculptural centrepiece of a fascinating composition. On one side, a geometric mosaic unfolds, comprising ivory-coloured, silvery-grey and deep blue surfaces, interspersed with delicate golden accents. On the other side, spiral-shaped ornaments and filigree structures are reminiscent of fossilised forms from ancient times, natural growth processes and artfully polished patterns.

The juxtaposition of different surfaces lends the work a particular sense of tension. Clean geometric lines meet organic swirls, whilst the relief-like design plays with light and shadow, creating the impression of a modern, three-dimensional sculpture.

The motif of the female body is not interpreted naturalistically, but rather as an artistic landscape of forms. Sensuality, symmetry and ornamental diversity combine to form an image that is equally elegant, unusual and expressive.

The work is part of the series ‘The Middle of Nowhere – In the Middle of Nowhere’, in which art, too, occasionally breaks new ground – and some of these paths lead, quite charmingly, to the reverse side. A wink is most certainly welcome here.

As a single image, the motif has an impact all of its own. Paired with a suitable second piece, it can be presented as a diptych; together with both related motifs, an expressive triptych is created.
