About "Shadow over the dune"

About the artwork

The picture was taken in Erg Admer, a vast dune area in the Sahara Desert in Algeria. The image shows only a small part of a sand dune. The way the light falls creates a clear contrast between light and shadow. Most of the picture is in shadow, making the sand texture look dark and soft. Only a narrow strip of the dune is touched by the low sunlight of the setting sun.
The transition between light and dark gives the image an abstract character. No people or horizon are visible, only shapes and planes of sand. The curve of the dune is subtle, almost fluid, and emphasises the natural lines of the landscape. The warm tone of the illuminated sand contrasts with the cool hue of the shadow, giving the photo depth without showing much detail.
This shot from the Sahara shows how simple a desert image can be and yet have a lot of expressiveness. The combination of dune, light and stillness forms an abstract landscape that references the natural rhythms of wind and sun in a timeless area.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
