Shoe with Roses is a still life of a shoe used as a vase for a Rose and a Gerbera. It is a very old shoe, from the late 1800s, from the Victorian era. They were worn under the long dress with the many lace and ruffles. Here they stand as a vase in an old castle setting with a picture of the same shoes on the wall. Both shoes are connected by a spider web, connected thus by the ravages of time. Two more lost flowers can be found on the ground. The light brings atmosphere to this work. The colours are purple, orange, cream and brown in muted tones befitting the Victorian era.
As an artist, I like to enter a colorful world especially the world of flowers. This colourful and so positive world appeals to me enormously. Flowers spread a positive atmosphere because of the colors and the beautiful and diverse shapes and one can never get enough of that!.. Read more…
