Silence by candlelight

by BBGalerie24

The artwork depicts a harmonious still-life composition comprising several textured candles in delicate natural and earthy tones, set in small, cylindrical stone holders. Some of the candles are burning with a gentle flame, whilst one has just gone out and a fine column of smoke is still rising into the air. The scene is complemented on the left by a small, earth-coloured vase containing delicate, dried silver leaves (Lunaria) and an antique metal candle snuffer resting on a rough, stone surface. The plastered background casts soft shadows and emphasises the tactile depth of the entire motif.

The inspiration for this work stemmed from the desire to capture a moment of pure stillness and slowing down. The aesthetics of wabi-sabi, the beauty of imperfection and the tranquil atmosphere of a cosy evening served as the direct inspiration.

The artwork exudes an extremely warm, soothing and, at the same time, nostalgic atmosphere. It conveys a deep sense of security, mindfulness and wintry cosiness.

The message of the picture is an invitation to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the silence. The candle, which has only just been extinguished, symbolises the transience of the moment and serves as a reminder to cherish conscious pauses in life.

It is a richly detailed, digitally created mixed-media composition in a photorealistic style, which deceptively realistically mimics the rough texture of stone, textured wax, dried plants and fine metal.

This piece is a perfect eye-catcher for modern, minimalist or wabi-sabi-style living spaces. It fits perfectly in bedrooms, hallways or cosy living areas designed to impress with natural materials, warm earth tones and a tranquil aesthetic.
