About ‘Silence in the Gerendal’ by Johangorissenfotografie

In the quiet Gerendal valley, located near Schin op Geul in Limburg, an almost timeless scene reveals itself on a cold December afternoon. The mist hangs thick between the trees, muffling every sound. The sun tries in vain to break through, resulting in a soft, almost magical glow behind the silhouette of bare trees.

This photo captures that moment of stillness. Everything seems to be on pause - nature, the light, time itself. The branches stand out sharply against the diffuse grey, like brushstrokes in a monochrome landscape. The composition is minimalist but full of tension; each line contributes to the feeling of that one place, at that one moment.

The power of this image lies in its simplicity and atmosphere. It is at once mysterious and comforting, raw and poetic. The absence of colour creates space for reflection - the viewer is allowed to give meaning to it himself.

Perfect for those who want to create a place of peace, contemplation or stillness in their home or workspace. A work that does not shout, but whispers - and therefore lingers all the longer.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
