About the artwork

This picture shows an astronaut standing seemingly weightless on the seabed. A mighty shark floats above him, emerging from the darkness of the water. The light refracted from the surface of the water immerses the scene in a mysterious, almost unreal atmosphere. It is a meeting of two worlds - space travel and the deep sea - that normally seem incompatible.

I found inspiration in the idea of combining extremes. The astronaut symbolises man's boundless curiosity to explore the unknown. The shark, on the other hand, symbolises the elemental forces of the earth and the mysteriousness of our oceans. With this work, I wanted to convey the message that adventure is not only to be found in space, but also on our own planet. It is an image about courage, discovery and the wonder of the unknown.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
