About ‘Skûtsje in with reef’ by Gerrit Harmen

This skûtsje participated in a sailing regatta. A skûtsje is a flat bottom that used to be used to transport goods.

The skûtsje has a reef in the sail. This means that the skipper has decided to reduce the sailing surface in a lot of wind.

Nowadays it is used for sailing competitions. Perhaps the SKS and IFKS championships…
