While traveling through lush Costa Rica, I spotted a sloth perched high in a palm tree—completely in its element. This slow-moving herbivore lives off leaves and sleeps up to 15 hours a day. Not because it’s lazy, but because its body is built for slow, intentional living, conserving as much energy as possible. Its fur even hosts algae and tiny insects—a little ecosystem that helps it blend perfectly into the treetops. A beautiful reminder that wildlife is best experienced quietly, from a distance, and always with respect for their natural rhythm.
