The Haukadalur Valley in southwest Iceland features active steaming vents, bubbling mud pools, and the famous Strokkur geyser along the Golden Circle route. Small, hissing openings release high-temperature steam across the mineral-streaked landscape. Boiling clay and mineral deposits bubble in small, colorful pools.
