The Spijkerboorse Kade is a small natural gem in the Green Heart between Alphen aan den Rijn and Boskoop.
This photo was taken on a December day with winter showers and, a beautiful rainbow. This made the light reflect nicely on the Alder trunks across the ditch.
If you look closely, you can see that the pot of gold is at the Alphen Hefbrug.
The row of trees in the background is the Beggars' Forest, the area to which vagrants and beggars in Alphen were exiled in the 17th and 18th centuries.
